Abena's Calcium alginate dressing with silver is made of natural fibers derived from seaweed. It is designed to be highly absorbent and form a gel like covering over the wound to help maintain a moist environment that promotes wound healing. The gel like surface also helps keep the dressing from adhering to the wound, which aids to minimize discomfort upon removal. The most fascinating aspect about this dressing is that it can restrain bacteria growth and help reduce infection. This highly conformable and flexible dressing supports a variety of uses on moderate to heavily exuding wounds.
