Do you have to wash Elvie Pump after every use?
The washable components of your Elvie Pump include the: Valve, Spout, Seal, Bottle, and Breast Shield. These pieces should all be cleaned and sterilized before the first use and cleaned after each time they are in contact with milk to prevent residue or bacteria buildup.
Will Elvie Pump work with all cup sizes?
Elvie Pump has been designed to fit within a standard nursing bra and the cup size makes no difference to how Elvie Pump works. If you are using a particularly structured and inflexible bra, the Bra Adjuster may be used to create more room. Getting the right sized Breast Shield is key for comfort and performance. This is based on the size of your nipple only (not even the areola!). Each Elvie Pump comes with Breast Shields in two sizes (24mm and 28mm) and a size guide on the Breast Shields themselves so that you can find your best fit
How long does Elvie Pump need charging for and how long does the charge last?
Elvie Pump takes approximately two hours to reach full charge and the charge lasts for about two and a half hours, although this will vary depending on the intensity setting.
Will Elvie Pump work with all cup sizes?
Elvie Pump has been designed to fit within a standard nursing bra and the cup size makes no difference to how Elvie Pump works. If you are using a particularly structured and inflexible bra, the Bra Adjuster may be used to create more room.
What positions can I use Elvie Pump in?
Generally we recommend sitting or standing because the milk monitoring function in the app will work better if you're upright. However, depending on factors like the amount of milk in the bottle and where the pump sits on your breast, you might find you have more flexibility.
Do I need a special bra to use Elvie Pump?
Elvie Pump is designed to be worn with your standard nursing bra. Elvie Pump needs to be firmly pressed against your breast, there should be no gaps between Elvie Pump and your breast. Each and every bra has a different level of support, so make sure to get the compression right before each session. If you are using a particularly structured and inflexible bra, the Bra Adjuster may be used to create more room.
Does Elvie Pump have disposable bags?
Elvie Pump doesn't have disposable bags. Instead, you pump directly into the reusable bottle then just place it into the fridge or freezer for storage when you're done, or decant it into a container if you prefer.
What is the capacity of the bottles?
The bottles hold 5oz or 150ml of milk. If you fill a bottle during a session, it's very easy to pause Elvie Pump and change bottles, before continuing to pump. Elvie Pump will automatically pause when it detects that the bottle is full.
