Geri-Care Docusate Sodium Liquid is a liquid stool softener that contains the active ingredient Docusate Sodium (50 mg). This liquid stool softener is cherry-flavored. This medication generally produces a bowel movement in 12 to 72 hours. You should not use this medication for more than one week unless directed by a doctor. Suitable for those 12 years and older. Each teaspoonful (5 mL) contains 5 mg of sodium.

- Shake well before using.
- Follow dosing directions below or use as directed by a physician.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Must be given in a 6 oz. to 8 oz. glass of milk or fruit juice to prevent throat irritation.
- May be taken as a single dose or in divided doses.
- Take maximum dose daily until first bowel movement, dosage should then be reduced according to individual response.
Ages 12 and older should take 1 to 6 teaspoonfuls (5 mL - 30 mL). Consult a doctor for those under 12 years old.
