About Nurse Assist USP Sterile Water

USP Sterile Water is water-for-injection (WFI) quality water that has been sterilized and packaged in single-use pour bottles for use in clinical and home health applications. Unlike normal saline, sterile water is hypotonic and should not be used as an intravenous fluid or in large-volume wound irrigation without clinical guidance, as it can disrupt cellular osmotic balance in large amounts. However, it is widely used and appropriate for many clinical applications including wound irrigation in specific protocols, rinsing of medical equipment such as nebulizer components, CPAP and humidifier water chambers, nasal irrigation devices, urological irrigation in prescribed protocols, and as a diluent for concentrated medications. USP Sterile Water is manufactured to United States Pharmacopeia pharmaceutical standards for sterility and purity. Available in 100 mL and 250 mL single-use pour bottles sold in cases.
