What are the benefits of Neocate Nutra?
Neocate Nutra is a one-of-a-kind product. With the protein source being 100% non-allergenic amino acids, Neocate Nutra allows food-allergic children to enjoy a pudding-like solid food. Not only does this provide a great source of nutrients in the diet, it also helps severely allergic children practice eating more solid foods.
How can Neocate Nutra fit in my child’s diet?
Neocate Nutra is not meant to be a replacement for any type of Neocate formula, because it is not formulated to be nutritionally complete. However, it is a great way to supplement your child’s diet with some extra energy and key nutrients, including Vitamin D and Calcium. If your child is around six months old, it can be used to introduce new textures. A lot of parents also give it as a snack, or mix it with other safe foods like mashed potatoes or applesauce to make a pudding.
For infants with food allergies who tolerate some solids, clinicians might recommend Nutra as a source of additional energy and nutrients. Allergic infants often only take solid foods that are low in "energy" and/or protein and may not be great sources of more than a handful of vitamins and minerals, so Neocate Nutra can help them meet nutrient needs.
If my child is older than 1 year, can he still use Neocate Nutra?
Many older children use Neocate Nutra to add texture and variety to their diet. Neocate Nutra is a great way to supplement your child's diet and is not designed to be used at a sole source of nutrition.
Is Neocate Nutra gluten free?
Neocate Nutra is gluten free, which means we regularly test batches for the presence of gluten to ensure that it is gluten free. We take this extra step because so many children use Neocate Nutra instead of an infant cereal, and having a gluten-free option is important to many families with kids with food allergy.
Can Neocate Nutra be frozen?
Prepared Neocate Nutra can be frozen or chilled to make cold treats. For an ice cream consistency, freeze for 3 hours. For an ice pop consistency, freeze overnight. Prepared product can be stored in the freezer or refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Once given to the child, Neocate Nutra should be used within 1 hour.
