About Plak-Vac Suction Toothbrush
The Plak-Vac suction toothbrush is a reusable, single patient use oral hygiene instrument. A combination yankauer and toothbrush, the Plak-Vac brush allows the removal of debris, plaque, bacteria and fluid from the mouth.

How do you use the Plak-Vac brush?
- Rinse the Plak-Vac brush in warm water before use.
- Attach the Plak-Vac brush firmly to the suction tubing.
- Apply healthcare provider recommended oral care product or solution to the Plak-Vac brush head.
- Brush the teeth with short quick motions to remove dental plaque on all sides possible, emphasizing along the gum line. Gently brush cheeks, palate, and tongue. To suction pooled liquids in the mouth, rotate the Plak-Vac brush and press gently to the bend the bristles. For greater suction close lips around the brush, if the patient is capable.
- After brushing, suction the mouth to remove any remaining liquid or debris.
*Note: Minor bleeding may occur, depending on gum and oral tissue health, and should decrease as the gums heal. Report sustained or heavy bleeding to healthcare provider.
How do you clean this product?
- After use, clean the Plak-Vac brush by rinsing the bristles with water. Filling a cup with water may be helpful. Bend the bristles against side of cup to assist with cleaning. Suction water through the brush head and tubing to clear inside of brush and suction tubing. Hydrogen peroxide solution may be suctioned through the brush if additional cleaning is desired.
- Store the Plak-Vac brush with the bristle end up in a container that will allow the Plak-Vac brush to air dry. Do not store the Plak-Vac brush in the original tube or any other sealed container.
- Replace the Plak-Vac brush if the bristles are worn, damaged or after an illness. Regularly inspect the brush head and inner lumen. If there is a build-up of secretions or debris in the inner lumen or in the bristles that cannot be removed, replace the brush.
Why is there no suction at brush head?
Finger must be placed over finger port to allow suction at the brush head. Confirm that the suction source is on and that the suction tubing is securely attached to the Plak-Vac brush.
