SoClean
One of the most common and reliable treatment therapies doctors prescribe for sleep apnea is the use of a CPAP machine (which stands for Continuous positive airway pressure). With daily use over time, the cleanliness of the mask, hose, and device can be a concern. Dust, microbes, and other particles may settle in, which may impact treatment effectiveness. Therefore, routine cleaning and sanitizing of CPAP machines are beneficial for the performance of the machine as well as its impact on your health. Recommended daily cleaning is best, and weekly at a minimum -- which can be time-consuming or a challenge to find a helpful rhythm. That’s where using a device like the SoClean 2 comes in. All that is required is a one-time setup, and you can go about your day, leaving the device to do all the work! It automatically sanitizes and disinfects your CPAP mask, hose, and reservoir, destroying 99.9% of CPAP germs, bacteria, and other pathogens. Now you can have peace of mind that your machine is working to provide fresh, clean air while you rest through the night. Rather than using water or chemicals to clean, SoClean 2 uses activated oxygen. The filter located inside the unit converts activated oxygen in the air enclosed within the system back into regular Oxygen when leaving the SoClean 2 chamber. The activated oxygen (ozone) is what kills the bacteria and germs it comes in contact with, which can build up over time with the use of a CPAP machine. The job of the check valve is to prevent water from damaging the equipment’s electronics. Both automatic and manual cleaning options are available on the unit. When your filter needs to be replaced, your SoClean unit front display will let you know by flashing the red, green, and yellow lights all at the same time. Replacing the filter and check valve is quick and easy and should be replaced every 6 months for optimal performance and effectiveness. The single green light indicates you are ready to go.

Who Should Be Using This Product?
For individuals with sleep apnea who use a CPAP machine and want the ease of automatically cleaning and maintaining their sleep equipment on a daily basis. SoClean is also compatible with most BiPAP and APAP machines. For individuals with ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP units, you will need a SoClean CPAP Cleaning Machine Adapter (purchased here) to make that connection. While it is important to clean and sanitize your CPAP machine, mask, and hose, it can be time-consuming when doing this on your own and therefore you may not clean the machine as often as needed. Having a machine like SoClean 2 makes cleaning and sanitizing easier on you by automatically cleaning and drying parts of your sleep apnea equipment. Customers enjoy the use of a SoClean 2 machine with its no mess or chemicals for cleaning along with the ease of use, making this a time-saving, efficient way to keep compliant with caring for their CPAP machine.
How Do You Use or Apply This Product?
- Before set up, use the Neutralizing pre-wash to remove any materials or odors left over from the manufacturing process or other cleaning products which could potentially react to the ozone. With a mixture of 2 capfuls Neutralizing pre-wash into 1 gallon of water, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to wash your sleep apnea equipment before connecting to the SoClean 2 (and repeat with any new sleep equipment parts).
- Follow the instructions in your manual to connect SoClean to your sleep apnea device and plug it into an outlet. Set the clock to the current time and schedule maintenance time. The unit comes preset to start a 7-minute cleaning cycle which starts at 10:00 am. There is a 2 hour rest period after each cycle to allow for the activated oxygen to revert back to regular oxygen.
- When you are ready to clean and sanitize your sleep apnea equipment: Open the lid, place the mask inside as the hose rests in the designated slot. Close the lid and it will automatically begin cleaning. If you prefer to schedule a time for cleaning, there is a manual option that allows you to delay the cleaning cycle by a few hours. Cleaning is recommended daily.
There is no need for water or soap for routine cleaning process and all parts of the machine stay intact-- no disassembly required. It is not recommended to place a memory foam mask into the unit. For those individuals with Asthma, COPD, or other respiratory issues, please consult your physician before using, as you may be sensitive to ozone.
