T.E.D.™ Anti-Embolism Stockings, Knee High, Medium / Regular, Beige, Closed Toe

T.E.D.™ Anti-Embolism Stockings by Cardinal Health are knee-high compression stockings clinically proven to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and promote increased blood flow velocity in the legs. The stockings apply a graduated compression pattern — 18 mmHg at the ankle, 14 mmHg at the calf, and progressively lower pressure moving up the leg — creating the hemodynamic force needed to combat venous stasis and reduce the risk of thromboembolic disease in patients with limited mobility, recovering from surgery, or on bed rest. The inlay circumferential knit helps maintain the clinically proven pressure pattern and prevent slippage, while the contoured seamless construction eliminates harsh ridges that could cause constriction or discomfort. Made from an 84% Spandex / 16% Nylon blend, these unisex stockings are designed for medium / regular sizing, fitting a calf circumference of 12 to 15 inches and a leg length up to 17 inches, and feature a closed toe for comfort during extended wear.

Key Benefits & Features

  • Clinically Proven DVT Reduction: The graduated compression pattern — 18 mmHg at the ankle, 14 mmHg at the calf, and decreasing pressure toward the knee — is clinically proven across multiple physician-reviewed studies to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis and promote increased venous blood flow velocity in hospitalized and recovering patients.
  • Graduated Compression for Optimal Circulation: The precise pressure gradient creates an osmotic force that encourages blood to move upward through the venous system, reducing venous stasis and the risk of dangerous clot formation during periods of limited mobility or bed rest.
  • Inlay Circumferential Knit Construction: Provides one-way horizontal stretch to help maintain the proper pressure pattern at each anatomical zone and prevent the stocking from slipping during wear, supporting consistent therapeutic effect throughout the day.
  • Contoured Seamless Design: Seamless construction eliminates ridges, seams, and pressure points that could cause constriction or discomfort, promoting a more comfortable fit for extended use in acute care, continuing care, and home settings.
  • Closed Toe Design for Comfort: The enclosed toe style provides full coverage and warmth, making these stockings appropriate for patients who prefer full-foot coverage during recovery and extended wear.
  • 84% Spandex / 16% Nylon Construction: The soft, stretchy fabric blend provides the elasticity needed to deliver consistent graduated pressure while remaining comfortable against the skin during all-day wear.
  • Unisex Fit for Medium / Regular Sizing: Designed to fit adults with a calf circumference of 12 to 15 inches and a leg length up to 17 inches, with a broad range of sizes available in the T.E.D.™ line to accommodate diverse patient populations.

Who Should Be Using This?

T.E.D.™ Anti-Embolism Stockings are intended for adult patients at risk of thromboembolic disease due to limited mobility, hospitalization, bed rest, post-surgical recovery, or other risk factors for DVT. They should be used under the guidance of a healthcare provider, who can determine the appropriate size, length, and compression level for each patient's clinical situation.

How Do You Use or Apply This Product?

Measure the patient's calf circumference and leg length before selecting a size to ensure the correct compression pattern is applied. Turn the stocking inside out to the heel, place the foot inside, and gently pull the stocking up the leg, smoothing out any wrinkles or folds. The stocking should lie flat against the skin with no bunching. Check that the heel pocket is positioned correctly and the stocking sits at the appropriate length. Inspect the skin and circulation regularly during wear as directed by a healthcare provider.
