What dosage of TUMS Ultra Strength 1000 mg should I take?
Adults and children 12 years of age and older: chew 2-3 tablets as symptoms occur, or as directed by doctor. Chew or crush tablets completely before swallowing. Do not take for symptoms that persist for more than 2 weeks unless advised by a doctor. Do not take more than 7 tablets in 24 hours. If pregnant, do not take more than 5 tablets in 24 hours.
Can you take TUMS while pregnant?
If you experience heartburn during pregnancy, there are treatments your doctor can prescribe or recommend. TUMS is effective for occasional heartburn and TUMS is the #1 OB/GYN recommended brand of antacid. The maximum daily dosage for Extra Strength is 6 tablets in 24 hours and for Ultra Strength is 5 tablets in 24 hours. Ask your doctor if TUMS and other options are appropriate for you.
